Movn Health, is a virtual care cardiovascular provider that is increasing access to cardiac rehab and helping patients recover faster at home through an innovative app-based virtual cardiac rehab program. Our mission is to provide equitable access to high quality cardiovascular care so people can live longer, healthier lives.

Our programs combine evidence-based guidelines, behavioral science, remote monitoring and virtual coaching to engage patients to adopt heart-healthy lifestyles and improve their wellbeing. Our programs were developed in collaboration with Stanford Medicine and are based on 20+ years of research on over 70,000 patients across six randomized clinical trials. Our program has successfully improved cardiac rehab participation rates, member outcomes and lowered readmission at marquee organizations like CDPHP, Kaiser Permanente, Highmark Health Plan, Allegheny Health Network and the Veteran Affairs.

A Summary of What You Will Do

Movn Health is hiring a part time Medical Assistant who can work remotely from any location in the United States, however, preferably would be located in either Pittsburgh Pennsylvania or San Diego, California, as the company has offices in both of those locations. As a Medical Assistant your work directly impacts patients’ ability to lead longer, healthier lives by supporting
care teams, streamlining clinical workflows, and proactively identifying patient needs. You will be responsible for chart preparation, triaging clinical alerts, managing provider communications, and following up on patient progress—all in a virtual care setting. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset to
ensure seamless operations in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment. By leveraging technology and efficient processes, you will help us deliver high-touch, patient-centered care that prevents complications and improves health outcomes.

How You Will Contribute to Our Mission

  • Chart Preparation: Ensure patient charts are up to date before provider appointments, including patient questionnaires, lab results, imaging reports, medication lists, and patient history, follow up to complete records as needed.
  • Triage Clinical Alerts: Monitor the clinical dashboard for alerts (e.g., abnormal vitals, medication adherence issues) and escalate appropriately.
  • Follow-up with Providers: Communicate with external providers about patient issues, coordinate care plan transmission, and ensure timely provider responses. Send progress reports, reminders, and check-ins to support patient adherence to cardiac rehab programs.
  • Re-Engage Patients: Communicate with patients who have been placed on pause due to a medical event or procedure and get them re-engaged.
  • Reschedule Patients: Connect with patients who have cancelled or no showed to their appointment, so they do not miss their session for the week.
  • Medical Documentation: Document patient interactions, provider recommendations, and care coordination efforts, ensuring all is accurate.
  • Flag Patient Concerns: Identify high-risk patients based on symptoms, adherence, and reported issues, ensuring early intervention.
  • Physician / Provider Onboarding: Train new physicians or providers with onboarding and be responsible for monthly provider pay invoicing.
  • Support Virtual Visits: Assist with virtual patient onboarding, troubleshooting tech issues, and ensuring smooth telehealth experiences.
  • Collaborate with Care Teams: Work closely with nurses, providers, and health coaches to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy, timely follow-ups, and compliance with clinical protocols.

What Skills You Will Need

  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) is required.
  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a cardiology, internal medicine, or rehab setting.
  • Experience in telehealth or virtual care environments strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs).
  • Ability and willingness to be adaptable and organized, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Bonus: Additional certifications in EKG interpretation, telehealth operations, or chronic disease management
