About the Implementation Specialist:
The Implementation Specialist is responsible for leading the end-to-end execution of client service implementations. This role manages complex projects involving the deployment of workers’ compensation care access models for both on-duty and off-duty injuries, ensuring all components are aligned, integrated, and launched successfully.
Acting as a project manager, this individual collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams—including Clinical, Solutions Consulting, Customer Success, and Sales—as well as with external client stakeholders. They will drive project timelines, coordinate deliverables, track milestones, and proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure launch readiness.
Key responsibilities include defining and documenting client-specific requirements such as TPA workflows, provider network integration, and treatment authorization processes. The Implementation Specialist will create and maintain visual injury workflows, service configuration maps, and detailed documentation to support consistent, compliant, and high-quality care delivery across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities, Duties, and Objectives:
Service Configuration & Workflow Development
- Lead configuration projects from planning through execution to support client-specific workflows.
- Design injury care workflows and access plans for on-duty and off-duty injuries.
- Determine TPA/insurance-related requirements (e.g., authorization guidelines, adjuster contact lists, SOW details).
- Gather provider network requirements (managed panels, travel radius, preferred/unpreferred providers).
- Develop care access diagrams and process maps in alignment with client guidelines.
- Document and manage client-specific operational resources (e.g., Functional Job Descriptions, On-Duty Injury forms, jurisdictional exceptions).
Client Implementation & Communication
- Serve as project lead for client onboarding and implementation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to build and deliver implementation plans.
- Coordinate communication with clients, TPAs, HR, and Risk Managers.
- Track project milestones, manage risks, and ensure timely execution.
- Present updates, documentation, and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certifications
- BBA or BS in Business or equivalent.
- Preferred certifications: CPCU, CEBS, ARM, SHRM, PMP, or other relevant project management designations.
Experience
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience working in or with the public sector (state/local government), with a strong track record of leading complex projects from planning to execution.
- Experience with fully-insured and self-funded workers’ compensation programs.
- Working knowledge of TPAs, self-insured models, and public sector risk workflows.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and deliver solutions aligned with client requirements.
Preferred Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of workers’ compensation statutes and care direction regulations across all 50 states.
- Familiarity with provider panel use, MCOs, and who controls care during the injury lifecycle.
- Comfort researching and interpreting multi-jurisdictional compliance frameworks.
