Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Client Support Specialist to serve as support to the Account Management and Sales Operations teams ensuring a smooth, seamless experience focused on client satisfaction starting from the implementation of new/renewing clients and throughout their journey with Self Fund Health. This role will work closely with brokers, employers, internal teams, and vendor partners across Wisconsin and the Midwest and is responsible for responding to client inquiries, assisting with account implementation, troubleshooting, assisting with account management and sales efforts, and providing ongoing support to maintain high service levels. This role requires a professional who understands the healthcare landscape, understands what it takes to maintain client relationships and is passionate about revolutionizing healthcare for local businesses and their greatest assets – their employees and their families.

The ideal candidate will have experience and thrives working within the health insurance industry (at a health plan, broker agency, health care provider system, network, TPA, etc.) and is well-versed in managing relationships while maintaining and exceeding service level expectations within a fast-paced environment. Success in this role will be defined by the ability to maintain professional relationships with clients, responding to inquiries in a timely manner and being able to pivot on tasks easily while remaining eager to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities:

Employer & Broker Client Support & Communication:

• Professionally serve as a first point of contact for client inquiries, escalating to the Account Manager where appropriate.

• Provide timely, professional, and accurate responses to clients regarding benefits, plan designs, enrollment, billing, provider networks, reporting, invoices, Self Fund Health model, claims, and policy details.

• Conduct virtual or in-person training to clients on how to use portals, view invoices, management enrollment and other key services.

• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Account Management Support:

• Assist Account Managers in maintaining strong client relationships by addressing client needs proactively.

• Support the renewal process by providing plan information, gathering necessary documentation, managing reports, scheduling and coordinating with sales teams.

• Track and manage client requests, ensuring timely resolution and communication.

• Maintain accurate records of client interactions in CRM or case management systems.

• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Implementation & Onboarding Support:

• Assist new clients and the Account Manager with plan setup, portal onboarding, implementation documents/contracts, enrollment processes, SBC’s, SPD’s, Member Guides, Open Enrollment Presentations and other tasks.

• Work closely with Sales, Account Management and our vendors during the implementation process to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.

• Help coordinate plan changes, additions, and terminations.

• Provide virtual or in-person training to clients on how to use portals, view invoices, management enrollment and other key services.

• Assist in ensuring a seamless, well-informed open enrollment process for brokers, employers and their members.

• Assist and potentially run open enrollment meetings when needed.

• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Sales & Operations Coordination:

• Support sales team with proposal preparation/auditing, RFP responses, savings analysis and overall operations support, when needed.

• Assist in preparing reports and client-facing sales documents/presentations.

• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Location: Wisconsin-based remote, with an understanding of Wisconsin's and surrounding states healthcare, health insurance and broker landscape.
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the health insurance industry or a related field with a proven client support success.
  • Health Insurance Knowledge: Understanding of health plan benefits, self-funded plans, stop loss insurance, DPC models, free-market care, and the pitfalls of fully insured plans is preferred. Foundational health insurance knowledge is required.
  • Client Management Expertise: Demonstrated success in client relationship management with excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • CRM Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM systems for tracking onboarding activities and managing the client support.
